HYSTERECTOMY

“The most advanced and minimally invasive TLH.”

Hysterectomy is a procedure in which the uterus (womb) is removed surgically from the body. There are various reasons for which the above procedure may be required.

  1. Dysfunctional uterine bleeding
  2. Heavy periods not responding to medical treatment
  3. Large uterine fibroids or other uterine tumors
  4. Uterine or pelvic malignancies
  5. Endometrial hyperplasia
  6. Pelvic endometriosis not responding to medical management or conservative surgeries.
  7. Genital prolapse
  8. Many relative indications like chronic pelvic pain

The hysterectomy can be performed by various techniques

  • Abdominal hysterectomy – Vertical or a low transverse incision
  • Laparoscopic hysterectomy
  • TLH ( total laparoscopic hysterectomy)
  • LAVH ( laparoscopic assisted vaginal hysterectomy)
  • Vaginal hysterectomy – The whole procedure is performed via the vaginal route.

The choice of the technique for hysterectomy depends on the specific gynaecologic condition, availability of specialised endoscopic instruments and the surgeon’s expertise.

At ‘The Gynae Clinic’, we understand our patient’s and the family’s anxieties and concerns about this procedure. Adequate time is spent with the patient and the family explaining them the various nonsurgical treatment options available before hysterectomy.
